Things you should know more about decommissioning
Question

Where do workers live?

  • Work environment improvements

Answer

More than 60% of the workers at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station are from Fukushima Prefecture, and about 90% of those people live in Hamadori.
In order to accelerate recovery in Fukushima we believe it is important to create a booming decommissioning-related industry in this area that will give birth to employment and new technologies which can in turn be spread to other regions and industries.
Going forward we will continue to strive to proactively hire people from the region, be open and transparent when it comes to procurement, and proactively train human resources from the region as we work together with local contractors to decommission the plant.
