Things you should know more about decommissioning
Question

At what point will "decommissioning" be considered complete?

  • Decommissioning work

Answer

We consider the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to be an activity implemented to “continually reduce risks to protect people and the environment from the risks associated with radioactive substances.” What the end state of the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station will look like, and when it will be achieved, and is something that we are examining while consulting with stakeholders, such as the local residents, and also the government and related agencies. TEPCO will continue to move safely and steadily forward with each decommissioning task at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station while considering the feelings of local residents.
