Geotechnologies Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Hiroshige Sugihara, hereinafter referred to as, "Geotechnologies") and KDDI Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Makoto Takahashi, hereinafter referred to as, "KDDI") have signed a memorandum of understanding for collaboration pertaining to interactive content that contributes to society.
Going forward, the assets of each company shall be leveraged to expand the functionality of this content and examine solutions to social issues.

1. Background of the Initiative
Aging infrastructure is a serious issue throughout Japan, and maintaining and upgrading this infrastructure is very costly. In order to reduce these costs, it is vital to detect the symptoms of troubles early and engage in “preventative maintenance” rather than “breakdown maintenance”, in which troubles are addressed after they occur. By utilizing digital technology, we aim to contribute to solving social issues by enabling infrastructure inspections to be carried out more efficiently than conventional methods.

2. Overview of the Collaborative Project
TEPCO PG, DEA, and GGG are developing a free mobile game application PicTrée - Grid Grab: Capture the Current- (hereinafter referred to as, " PicTrée ") using power assets for interactive content that contributes to society. A demonstration test of this app will start on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture. (Announced on March 4)
This MOU represents a joint project with Geotechnologies and KDDI to examine the scalability of PicTrée" as an all-purpose photo-shooting platform (interactive game platform that contributes to society) that infrastructure companies can utilize to meet their various needs.
While users enjoy game content, the platform will collect various kinds of data that will be used to solve various social issues faced by local governments and companies. By doing so, the platform aims to create a community and a society that are continuously loved by people.

The new project is expected to solve social issues by leveraging digital technology, and aims to improve the content to make it more appealing.

< Digital Entertainment Asset Pte., Ltd. >
We aim to fuse entertainment with social contribution by leveraging our four years of experience with managing gaming economies. The impetus for this grand concept was the utility pole inspection game that we are developing with GGG and TEPCO PG.
We have learned that the concept of using entertainment and reward incentives to entice small acts of participation by the general public in order to help solve various problems is actually something that companies are trying to do all over the world.
We are able to make this announcement today as a result of meeting the like-minded people from Geotechnologies and in anticipation of cooperation from KDDI. We are confident that the innovative solutions that are emerging from the entertainment powerhouse that is Japan, such as improving the infrastructure and environment around us through a little daily gameplay, will surely save the world. Look out for more to come!

< KDDI Corporation >
Our company's "αU Wallet" and "αU market" aim to provide a "gateway" to the Web3 world for a wide range of customers.
Through this initiative, we will promote the creation of new uses for Web3 along with participating companies while we aim to scale-up this venture to leverage our assets.

< Geotechnologies Inc. >
Our company aims to provide highly fresh, highly accurate, and high-quality digital maps in order to increase the added value of digital maps while reducing the cost of map maintenance. We are pleased to be able to contribute to society through new initiatives to improve infrastructure and the environment by fusing digital maps with entertainment.
