TEPCO has an abundant construction and design experience in transmission lines and substations. We have made a contribution to decrease of environmental impact and environmental harmonization of transmission line and substation with existing backgrounds. Our Technologies are effective solutions for environmental issues.

Transmission Network

Overhead Transmission Line Underground Transmission Line Substation Landscape Examination System
The Landscape Examination System is used to examine the visual impact of transmission towers on the scenery through which transmission lines pass. This system consists of two subsystems. Photo montage images and computer graphics images make it possible for us to select the most visually inconspicuous tower height and location.
These images are useful for explanation of the validity of selected tower sites.

1. Route Selection System

  • Evaluation of Visual Impact Using topographical data, a 3-dimensional perspective with tower is drawn.
    • Simple perspective (Fig.1) Evaluation of the extent of visibility
    • Detailed perspective (Fig.2)

  • Route Zone Selection T/L routes are selected according to whether towers are visible or invisible.

  • Profile Examination
    • Examination of clearance between conductor and structure
    • Examination of range of conductor swing

2. Visual Impact Simulation System
This system draws complete images of various kinds of facilities upon existing backgrounds (CG, photograph).
