In accordance with our “New Comprehensive Special Business Plan”, we are planning to purchase a total of 6GW* of power from other operators which will be able to start operating from April 2019 to March 2024. As the draft of Invitation for bids are now fixed, proposals will be accepted from August 11, 2014 to March 31, 2015.

For this bidding, on April 21, 2014, we released the draft of the Invitation for bids, and put out a Request for Comments (RFC) on this draft, based on the “new guidelines for bidding on thermal power generation facilities (developed by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy on September 18, 2012)
Later, we submitted the draft of the Invitation for bids that reflected the opinions gathered through RFC to the neutral organization (Thermal Power Plant Bids Working Group). As the draft of Invitation for bids are confirmed on the 6th meeting of Thermal Power Plant Bids Working Group (July, 15, 2014), we will start accepting proposals from parties wishing to sell power.

We will strive to strengthen our operating foundations and fulfill our responsibility to revitalize Fukushima, as we enhance our competitiveness by making use of  inexpensive power offered by third parties.

A briefing session for potential bidders will be held as shown below.

* The bids for this time have been extended to cover part of the bidding for the replacement of existing thermal power generation facilities with a supply capacity of 10,000 MW that is included in the "New Comprehensive Business Plan", in addition to the amount of 1,920 MW remaining from the last electricity bidding, which was held in FY2012 for the amount of 2,600 MW.
