On December 12, 2011, we received a directive document^*1 "Regarding the revision of the technical specification based upon the evaluation result of the facility management plan of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Direction)" from the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Previously mentioned on December 12, 2011).

In order to follow this direction and reflect the actual operation at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station into the technical specification, we submitted a request to revise the Technical Specification for the Nuclear Reactor Facility at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station^*2 on August 10, 2012.

Provided below is the outline of the changes to be made.

- As the evaluation of the "Reports on our facility operation plan based on the "Policy on the mid term security" for Units 1 to 4 of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Part 2), (Part 3)" has been completed, Chapter 12 of the Technical Specification will be revised accordingly.
- Technical Specification provisions in Chapter 12 will be optimized to reflect the actual equipment usage at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

The changes above were reviewed by the government and have been approved by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry today.

Government-approved fundamental rules for nuclear power station operators to follow in order to maintain safe operation and stable condition of nuclear power stations (including operation management, fuel management, radiation management, emergency measures and equipment/facility management based on the "Policy on the Mid-term Security"), which are stipulated by Article 37 Section 1 of the Act on the Regulations of Nuclear Source Material, Nuclear Fuel Material and Reactors.
