Malfunction in Unit 3 of Anegasaki Thermal Power Station at the restart after the inspection

TEPCO's Anegasaki Thermal Power Station Unit 3 (Station Chief: Naotaka Masuda, Location: Anegasakikaigan 3, Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture, Rated Output: 600MW) was under the inspection from June 16 to 22 in order to ensure the stable power supply during this summer. Although its operation was restarted at 12:38 AM on June 23, we stopped the generation at 8:25 AM on the same day as potential steam leakage from the tube inside the boiler was found.
The area of concern was investigated after cooling the boiler down. Damage on the boiler tube was confirmed and we located the damaged portion.
Further inspection and repair will be carried out.

Today's power supply capacity is 45,600MW, with which reserve capacity of 28.5% can be secured.
