Performing a Series of Functional Tests for the Entire Plant of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station Unit No.7 after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake (Evaluation of the plant status when generating power at approx. 75% of the rated output)
The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station Unit No.7 (ABWR: 1,356MW) had been shut down since
the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake occurred on July 16, 2007. On May 8, 2009, we started a
series of functional tests for the entire plant, and are performing the pre-planned tests.

Keeping the generating power at approx. 75% of the rated output, we have performed various
pre-planned tests by 2:30 p.m. of June 1, 2009, and confirmed these results to be satisfactory.

We will disclose test evaluation results accordingly.
