We are announcing the status of major inspections and restoration works and nonconformances 
at TEPCO's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake. 

Inspection/Restoration Status

 ◇ Inspection and restoration completed between May 22nd to May 28th, 2009 
    (Completed on the following date) 

   - Unit No.5 Seismic reinforcement works (Seismic reinforcement works for the roof truss 
     of the reactor building): 
       May 22nd 
   - Unit No.7 Functional test for the entire plant (Inspection after generating power at 
     approx. 20% of the rated output): 
       May 23rd 

 ◇ Inspection and restoration to be commenced between May 29th to June 4th, 2009 
    (To be commenced on the following date) 

   - Unit No.1 500kV power cable inspection (Laying cables): 
       June 1st 
   - Unit No.3 Inspection of power supply input transformer of the primary loop recirculation 
     system adjustable speed drive (Transformer (B) carrying in and installation work): 
       May 27th* 
   - Unit No.3 Inspection of power supply input transformer of the primary loop recirculation 
     system adjustable speed drive (Transformer (A) carrying in and installation work): 
       June 3rd 
   - Restoration work of filtrate tank and demineralized tank on Arahama-side (Restoration 
     work of No.1 filtrate tank): 
       June 1st 
   - Reconstruction of arrestor steel tower on Arahama-side (Preparation work for 
     reconstruction): 
       May 29th
