Status of the Inspection and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake (as of May 14th)
We are announcing the status of major inspections and restoration works and nonconformances 
at TEPCO's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake. 

Inspection/Restoration Status

 ◇ Inspection and restoration completed between May 1st to May 14th, 2009 
    (Completed on the following date) 

   - Unit No.6 Turbine inspection (Low-pressure turbine restoration work of blades): 
       April 29th* 
   - Unit No.7 Functional test for the entire plant (Restarting the nuclear reactor): 
       May 9th 
   - Unit No.7 Functional test for the entire plant (Test of raising the reactor pressure 
     to approx. 3.5MPa): 
       May 10th 

 ◇ Inspection and restoration to be commenced between May 15th to May 21st, 2009 
    (To be commenced on the following date) 

   - Unit No.2 Seismic reinforcement works (Seismic reinforcement works for the roof truss 
     of the reactor building): 
       May 18th 
   - Unit No.3 500kV power cable inspection (Preparation work for laying cables): 
       May 18th 
   - Unit No.4 Seismic reinforcement works (Seismic reinforcement works for the roof truss 
     of the reactor building): 
       May 18th 
   - Unit No.5 House transformer inspection (5A, 5B Carrying in and installation work): 
       April 25th* 
   - Unit No.5 Seismic reinforcement works (Seismic reinforcement works for reactor building 
     overhead crane): 
       May 20th 
   - Unit No.6 Turbine inspection (Restoration of casing, etc.): 
       April 30th* 
   - Unit No.6 System functional test (Primary containment vessel leak-rate inspection): 
       May 19th 
   - Unit No.7 Functional test for the entire plant: 
       May 8th* 
   - Restoration and reinforcement work for the on-site and outside roads and slope, etc. 
     (Maintenance work of the slope in front of sub protection headquarter office):

information reported from April 30th to May 13th, 2009.
