Nonconformances Found in the Inspection and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake (September 27th)
We are announcing the status of major inspections and restoration works (from 
September 23rd to October 20th, 2007) and non-conformance at TEPCO's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa 
Nuclear Power Station after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake.

1. Inspection/Restoration Status
 ○ Inspection and restoration completed between September 21st to 27th, 2007
  • Unit No.6 House transformers (6A) oil extraction and inner inspection:
      Inspection completed on September 25th.
  • Unit No.6 House transformers (6B) oil extraction and inner inspection:
      Inspection completed on September 26th.
  • Unit No.7 Main transformers oil extraction and internal inspection:
      Inspection completed on September 21st.
  • Unit No.7 Refueling machine inspection:
      Inspection to be completed on September 27th.

 ○ Inspection to be commenced between September 28th to October 4th, 2007.
  • Unit No.1 In-core inspection preparation (Phase3)
  • Unit No.2, 4, and 5 Main exhaust ducts inspection (In-trench duct)
  • Unit No.2 Restoration for the blowout panel of turbine building
  • Unit No.5 Refueling floor service tools inspection (Stud tensioners, etc.)
  • Unit No.6 Main transformers oil extraction and internal inspection
  • Unit No.7 Reactor head opening
  • Unit No.7 Removal of the Spent fuel pool underwater work platform 
    (planned from September 27th to 30th )

2. Nonconformances Found in the Inspection and Restoration Works Performed
   after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake

   Based on the "Public Announcement Regarding Nonconformance Found in the 
   Inspection and Restoration Works Performed after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki 
   Earthquake", the Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) provides 
   this announcement containing incidents information reported from September 20th 
   to 26th, 2007 and the occurrence status of nonconformances (that have been 
   deliberated) reported from September 13th to 19th, 2007.

○ Incidents Information (relating to the Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake)
<Reports from September 20th to 26th, 2007>
* The total number of injured persons at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa site after the Niigata-Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake (since August 10th, 2007) is listed on "○ Other Findings" mentioned below. ○ Information on Nonconformances (those related to: the Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake; Grades As, A, B, C, and D; and non-graded)
○ Other Findings • Unit 3 house transformer 3B has been transported to the factory on September 20th. • Unit 1 high-voltage start-up transformer has been transported to the factory on September 20th. • Total number of injured persons at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa site since August 10th, 2007: 1 (no radiation exposure)
