Requirements from the New Regulatory Requirements
Operators should be able to stay in the reactor control room, or main control room, at the time of major accidents.
Actions taken at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station
Exposure dose of workers will be reduced by building a shelter with radiation shielding near the main control room.
Radiation-related equipment and materials (protective gear and measuring instruments) are being stored in the main control room
 in preparation for a major accident.
Power supply from alternating current power supply equipment (gas turbine generators and power supply vehicles) is being made available for
 the lighting and air-conditioning of the main control room.
