Requirements from the New Regulatory Requirements: ●Safety functions should not be impaired by fires or blasts occurring outside of the power station such as forest fires, fires or explosions from nearby factories, or plane crashes.
Actions taken at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station: ●Impact assessments were conducted to confirm that the necessary functions are not impaired in the event of a fire outside of the power station.
●Spread of fire will be prevented by constructing a fire line around the nuclear facilities.
●The preventive water sprinkling plans were established and the self-defence fire brigade is stationed 24 hours a day.
