Electricity Rate Plans
How to Calculate Your Electricity Bill
Monthly electricity rates are the sum of the demand charge, energy charge, Renewable Energy Power Promotion Surcharge*1 etc. The demand charge will be determined by the contracted ampere or contracted power, while the energy charge will be calculated according to the amount of energy consumption.
The energy charge to be adjusted under the fuel cost adjustment system*2, however, it will be the sum plus or minus the fuel cost adjustment amount.
- 1*
The "Renewable Energy Power Promotion Surcharge" is calculated based on the "unit price of Renewable Energy Power Promotion Surcharge" set every fiscal year according to provisions; such as the "Act on Purchase of Renewable Energy Sourced Electricity by Electric Utilities", and will be added to the customer's monthly electricity bill.
- 2*
The fuel cost adjustment system is designed to meet changes in recent fuel costs, so that electricity rates will be adjusted automatically every month according to certain standards if the cost of fuels, such as crude oil, LNG (liquefied natural gas) or coal, rises or falls due to fluctuations in the foreign exchange rate and energy prices.
